Hemp Expo Mission Statement

The purpose of the Santa Cruz Industrial Hemp Expo was to bring together education, commerce, and ecology to promote the vast potential of hemp.

The Expo bridged environmental manufacturers with industry and agriculture. Manufacturers made serious inroads into growing and processing fiber, seed, and pulp for a multitude of uses including paper, clothing, carpeting, building materials, hardware items, cosmetics, foods, nutrition, medicine, industrial lubricants, paints, biomass diesel fuel, and the paradoxical “biodegradable plastics.”

Green business retailers (hemp, ecological, health food, natural clothing, and right livelihood companies) formed a vital link between primary source manufacturers and the public. This occurred through education, advertising, and sales featuring “environmentally friendly,” durable, quality products.

The public gained a storehouose of this knowledge as well as potential future business concepts. Our hope was that people would realize that this was an Expo for everyone. Each person’s participation helped to create a synergy which made this event more profound.

We can and must help reverse the current destruction of our Earth’s precious resources, favoring sustainable measusres and uses for people, animals, and plants on this precarious planet. In this way, we all serve as an educational resource for all sectors of society.
